Girls Coach – Jonathan Laird
Coach Laird swam for Springbrook Summer League, Central Gwinnett High School, and Swim Atlanta. As a swimmer in high school, his focus was on backstroke and butterfly. He successfully swam at the State Meet for three of his years in high school and qualified for finals on all relays his junior and senior years. Coach Laird has been the head coach for Campbell’s swim and dive team since 2005. He was named Coach of the Year for Cobb County 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
I have been coaching at Campbell High School since 2005. During this time we have built a program from 6 swimmers/divers to a Team of 60! We have successfully sent a strong contingency to the County and State Meets each year since 2005 and can only hope in continuing to do so. At Campbell we understand that winning is a challenge, individually, and as a Team; however, we will continue to make great strides in the sport.
Our program is neither the smallest nor the largest and because of this all of our athletes get to compete during the season. At Campbell we have an excellent fusion between club and non-club swimmers/divers on the Team. This mix has generated a Team attitude towards success and dignity. We hold our heads up high and never lose focus on our goals as a Team. We never retreat, we never surrender, because that is Spartan law.
Our story will continue to grow.
